It does work, but there are underlying medical reasons that might cause the treatment to fail. If you're not seeing any results after 8 treatments, I'd suggest talking to a dermatologist.

It will almost certainly require multiple treatments. Hair follicles have an active growing cycle and a rest cycle. The laser targets the dark pigment in the part of the hair under the skin, so the hair follicle has to be in the active part of the growing cycle for the treatment to work. Follicles that are in the rest cycle aren't effected, so it's generally not possible to get them all in one treatment. You have to wait for the follicles to become active.

i shave my underarms and it leaves this black patch and i absolutely HATE it! I'm embarrassed to wear singlets and lift my arms up coz it's like so dark there. Does this get rid of the dark patch completely? Please someone..let me know. I also have this dark patch around my pubic hair area and knee caps, etc.

I guess you're the exception then. Glad it worked for you! I haven't met anyone else, in person or the internet, that says laser hair removal works.
