mikepumpkin you were probably born after the 80s. he has 10 centuries against strong Indian and pakistan spinners. Please get your facts right. Lara and Tendulkar are great but really from what everyone has seen can be seriously troubled by high class fast bowling. Richards was supreme against fast bowling and was great against spin. Arun

Sachin and Lara are the best be far in terms of records and statistics and would pay to see them bat. Viv however is the ultimate entertainer , I am not saying Sachin & Lara weren't entertainers, they were. Viv was just intimidating with that swagger. I just rate him above Sahin & Lara ,thats my preference.

Bradman is not just a Cricketing anomaly, but a sporting one too. He is really a freak of nature. Think about it like this: Michael Jordan holds the scoring per game average in the NBA at 30.1 points a game. In order to be comparable to Bradman statistically he would need to average 43 points per game. That is how large the difference between Bradman and other sportsmen and in Cricket that distance is even bigger.

I'm not denigrating Richards here either. In fact, I am a big fan. He just doesn't come close to Bradman. In fact, Bradman was in a side just as strong as Richards. They were called, "The Invincibles", ever heard of them? Bradman is just a freak of nature, he is not comparable to anyone, even Richards. Also, Bradman has a pretty SR, as is described. In Bradman's day 30-40 SR was the norm. Bradman is said to have been probably 50-60 (the standard of today's greats.

fair point but in such a strong west indian team at the time, to stand out is an achievement. he had such a a lazy attitude but would come out and spank the bowlers to all parts. im not saying im a enemy of bradman, i liked his cricket and really appreciated him.

You do know that for part of Bradman's career there were no lbws right? It wasn't introduced yet. That would make it easier to make runs.
