While I have only played the United States release of the game, I play the game on the "Difficult" setting, and I still experience little difficulty in completing the game with my typically Robot Master order: Quick Man Metal Man Bubble Man Heat Man Wood Man Air Man Crash Man Flash Man

Play the Japanese version. Normal mode for the is Intense for us, so Airman has double health, enemys deal double the damage and his tornado position is completely random.

Curious. I have never experienced difficulty combatting Airman. I also fail to understand the percieved difficulty of completing Heat Man's stage without the aid of Item #2.
