I talked to someone from India who said the opposite of what you are saying. I asked a 40+ year old Moari recently if he had encountered racism and he said no. So I think you are talking rubbish.

lived in chch for longer than 10yrs since highschool days, although I love the place its hard to deny the fact that chch has a lot of racism, even compared to Australia. Sad but true - metallica

Not racist but it is the criminal capital of NZ. If you want to study in here,I probably would recommend Wellington or Duniden.

avon is a total pleasure to have in Christchurch. you just should not miss that. it is totally relaxing and the unrivaled view on the punt is just indescribable. i love it and look forward to going back!
